We Put the Fun in Fundraising!
Our special events give us the financial boost needed to maintain our commitment to a clean & dog-friendly beach, and allow us to spread goodwill throughout the community. In addition to the events we host, you’ll find us at a variety of special events throughout the community. We warmly welcome event-planning volunteers to join in the fun! 2012 Friends of Jupiter Beach Food & Wine Festival In Honor of Jack Melleby Saturday, May 19…Save the Date!
The 2011 event was held on Saturday, May 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Jupiter Riverwalk Events Plaza beneath the Indiantown Road Bridge… a covered, outdoor venue close to the beach and directly on the Intracoastal Waterway.
It was a gathering of fans of great food, libations and music, our four-legged family members, the ocean, the beach, and conservation. This blockbuster event featured dozens of restaurants and beverage sponsors offering unique tastings and samplings. We invited like-minded organizations to expand on our theme of caring for our environment and animals. Check out all the details on the Food & Wine Festival Page & reserve the 2012 date: Saturday, May 19 3pm – 6pm at the Riverwalk Events Plaza.
Square Grouper Dog Wash
It’s a very special day when you can bring your dog to the famous Square Grouper Tiki Bar & Castaways Marina on the Jupiter Inlet. Dogs are usually not allowed inside this tropical landmark, but they’re all welcome one day each year for a Dog Wash & Tiki Towel off fundraiser to benefit Friends of Jupiter Beach.
Pooches can paddle in the water at Square Grouper beach, sun in the sand in view of the Lighthouse, and be pampered by volunteers, who lovingly wash and towel dry them all. Their owners are treated to great music, libations, lively vendors and treats.
If you haven’t been to the Square Grouper, it’s where Alan Jackson filmed a portion of the music video “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” We’re most grateful to owner Jim Burg and the Square Grouper crew for this boost to our fundraising efforts.
Visit our FJB Square Grouper Dog Wash page, and stay tuned for details about the next Square Grouper Dog Wash and Tiki Towel Off!
Dog Days of Summer, Roger Dean Stadium
Every summer, dogs are welcome to join their best friends for select Saturday evening baseball games at Roger Dean Stadium. Since its inception, over 3,000 dogs have visited the baseball stadium with their owners to see either the Jupiter Hammerheads or Palm Beach Cardinals play ball. On each of these nights, dogs are admitted into the stadium with the purchase of a dog pass. The $5 Pooch Pass is good for all five Dog Days of Summer dates.
All proceeds from the dog pass benefit local dog related not-for-profit groups, including Friends of Jupiter Beach. For more information on the Dog Days of Summer please contact the stadium at (561) 775-1818 or visit www.rogerdeanstadium.com Friends of Jupiter Beach has a table at each event, with volunteers handing out dog bags & sharing the environmental care & dog-friendly message of FJB. Of course, FJB dog bags are available inside the stadium! We hope to see you there!
